Cell

Hey guys though we didn't manage to carry out the prayer walk activity last week, im sure we gained lots through the short film 'most'.

well, for those who didnt manage to catch it, the film is a tragedy about a bridgeman (one who regulates the bridge for trains to cross the river) and his son. One day the bridgeman brought his son with him to work. the son was told to stay by the river and play by himself while he gets to work. as a vessel was travelling along a river, the bridgeman had to raise the bridge for the vessel to pass. unfortunately, the train was coming too soon and the bridge had to be lowered in time. the son saw the train coming, but not his father. thinking that he might be of some help, the son ran to the bridge and attempted to manually lower the bridge. sadly, the boy slipped and fell into the control box. upon seeing this, the father had to decide if he should lower the bridge. by doing so, he would kill his own son, but save those on the train. however, if he doesnt, he would be able to save his son but not those on the train. during the few seconds he had to make an agonizing choice. either choice hurts, but eventually, he chose to sacrifice his son.

this parellels to how God sent his son, Jesus Christ to die for us on a cross.. it wasnt easy, not for the Father, nor for the Son. just as Jesus prayed, 'Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.'(Luke 22:42). I think the reason why the movie left a deep impression was because the people in the traon were oblivious to what was happening. moreover, some of them were not worthy of the Son's death; i.e., drug addict etc. just like us, we were not worthy. but yet, the Father made his decision to save us, through the death of his son. yeap. thats the gist of the whole film. to watch it for yourself, follow this link:
